About Me

My name is Katrien Cogan and I am an evolutionary astrologer based on the West Coast of Éire with roots in Northern California as well as this island. My love for the natural world, people and the eternal beauty of wisdom gleaned from careful observation and thoughtful reflection upon cycles of time which we see in astrology and reflected in our personal lives drives me in this vocation. 

I came to devote myself to astrology and offering others support through this incredible system after several years of shedding and strife. During this period my concept of who I was and what I was capable of changed dramatically. Through experiences of coming in contact with people and places where my mystical view of the world was supported and encouraged, I chose to become one of those who can support and encourage others.

I believe we each have a unique purpose in our time on Gaia and I am here to support those who ask the most ultimate questions “What is my purpose?” “Who am I?” and even a little abstractly “What time is it?”. By taking our experiences - our life events, our emotional reality, our spiritual extensions - and applying the insights and wisdom of astrology we can aid ourselves in identifying the meaning and patterns at play. Rather than things happening to us we can start to see the design of our lives as innately meaningful and with intent. We are each here on this planet to learn and to grow. It is a radical choice to nominate oneself by seeing yourself through astrology to search for these lessons, patterns and cycles from the view of the cosmos. 

I believe everything can be changed through the art and magic of conversation and in my work I deliver conversations which have the potential to transform. I believe in the alchemy of our darkest parts having an accepting and curious light shone on them.

I am eternally grateful for places such as Omega Institute of Holistic Studies in New York and Watkins Books in London. I am eternally grateful for my partner Anthony who lead the way and always holds space for the person I am becoming even when I try to resurrect the person of my past. I am eternally grateful for other teachers and guides including Josh Schrei, Sophie Strand, Dr Brian Weiss, Stephen Harrod-Buhner, Asia Suler, Bibi Dalmann, Aisling Leonard-Curtin, Aisling O’Leary and many more. I am eternally grateful for the marshland and river of Varty. I am eternally grateful for the herons and pheasants. For eucalyptus and Sitka spruce. For libraries and botanical gardens everywhere. For all the non human guides who have encouraged me forward. For it all I am eternally grateful.
