About Me

My name is Katrien Cogan, and I am an evolutionary astrologer based on the West Coast of Éire, with roots in both Northern California and this island. My love for the natural world, for people, and for the timeless beauty of wisdom - gleaned through careful observation and thoughtful reflection on the cycles of time revealed in astrology and mirrored in our personal lives, drives me in this vocation.

I devoted myself to astrology and supporting others through this profound system after several years of shedding and struggle. During that time, my understanding of who I was and what I was capable of shifted dramatically. Through encounters with people and places that nurtured and encouraged my mystical view of the world, I chose to become someone who could offer that same support and encouragement to others.

I believe each of us has a unique purpose during our time on Gaia, and I am here to support those who ask the deepest questions: “What is my purpose?”, “Who am I?”, and even, in a more abstract sense, “What time is it?” By reflecting on our experiences—life events, emotional realities, and spiritual dimensions - through the lens of astrology, we can uncover the patterns and meanings at play.

Rather than seeing life as something that simply happens to us, we can begin to perceive it as innately meaningful, guided by intention. We are here to learn and grow, and choosing to explore ourselves through astrology is a radical act of self-nomination, a conscious invitation to understand the lessons, cycles, and patterns of our lives from the expansive perspective of the cosmos.

I believe everything can be transformed through the art and magic of conversation, and in my work, I offer conversations with the power to illuminate and shift. I trust in the alchemy that occurs when our darkest parts are met with curiosity, acceptance, and a gentle light.

In this, I am eternally grateful. Grateful for my astrology teachers: Steven Forrest, Barbara Hand-Clow, and Liz Greene. Grateful for places that have nurtured my growth, like the Omega Institute of Holistic Studies in New York and Watkins Books in London. Grateful for my partner, Anthony, who leads the way and holds space for the person I am becoming, even as I sometimes try to resurrect the person I once was.

I am grateful for other teachers and guides: Josh Schrei, Sophie Strand, Dr. Brian Weiss, Stephen Harrod-Buhner, Asia Suler, Bibi Dalmann, Aisling Leonard-Curtin, Aisling O’Leary, and many more. Grateful for the marshland and river of Varty, the herons and pheasants, the eucalyptus and Sitka spruce. Grateful for libraries, botanical gardens, and all the non-human guides who have encouraged me forward.

For all of it, I am eternally grateful.

I work with people who think deeply, feel deeply, and are drawn to the questions that don’t always have easy answers.

Many of my clients are navigating career shifts, breakups, or unexpected grief, and they ask themselves big questions such as:

“What truly matters to me?”
“Why does this keep happening?”
“How can I make choices that are aligned with who I really am?”

My practice is rooted in Evolutionary Astrology - an approach that views your chart not as fate, but as a symbolic story of your soul’s intention in this lifetime. I offer a space of reflection, trust, and curiosity, where you can explore your patterns, purpose, and potential.
